Murkysong Firthclan oracle the basics Aisling • age • 36 moons gender • Female sexuality • Panromantic rank • Oracle the looks A black she-cat with spreading vitiligo, a remarkably long tail and pale yellow eyes. Petite • smaller than most mollies with a lithe build making her appear much like a moorland cat. overall looks • The oddly ever-changing pelt of Murkysong is not one the clan tends to miss too easily. The stark contrast between the pure white and deep black of her pelt is only emphasized by its random pattering that seems to change as moons pass but this is due to the vitiligo that will surely begin to cover her entire pelt white as moons come and go but black is still concentrated in the fur around her nose and ears. Given her small size, the length of her tail seems rather odd, probably reaching well over half of her body length but not quite double. The length of her coat is medium, only beginning to thicken and scruff in the areas around her neck, belly, and tail. It is not hidden that Murkysong originated from somewhere near the Moorclan border and the lithe build of her frame only further hints at her moorland heritage, however, she adapted extremely well to swimming over her apprenticeship and can swim quickly while using her long tail to change direction and uses it to balance in precarious places easily! the personality likes - Talking with her clanmates / Sharing tongues - Fishing or simply swimming so long as it's nice weather! - Being an aid to the clan, seeing it as a way of repaying them for saving her life. - Telling kits/apprentices stories dislikes - Moorclan as a whole really - Being woken up from sleep - Eating amphibians; they are too slimy! - Any cats who disrespect her clan or the fae. strengths - Warm and Folksy; she has a comforting aura about her that most of the clan finds inviting - Insightful and Intelligent; despite her overimaginative tendencies, it is clear that Murkysong remains intellectual and able to decipher complicated situations put before her. Many clan cats often come to her for advice and it is not very easy to slip things past her. *Sensitive to Faeries and the Fae realm weaknesses - Opinionated; it is not easy to change her mind about something she has already decided but that does not mean she is close-minded. - Overimaginative; given her expressive and quirky personality, she can often come off as slightly strange for her wild thoughts but it is often comically regarded. dreams - Murkysong dreams that perhaps one-day Moorclan will realize their mistakes in the horrid pact they had made with the faeries that almost cost her her life. Perhaps it is a change that will never come, though Murkysong still dreams. fears - Murkysong can sometimes grow fearful in situations involving tight spaces or if she is unable to freely move. - Her nightmares consist of the black bodies of kits who hadn't been so lucky. She takes her changing fur to be a sign that there is a light within the black fur Moorclan so desperately rid themselves of. overall personality • Murkysong is known to be a social figure of Firthclan given her open and charismatic air. Rarely does she ever have difficulty speaking to a crowd and tends to know ways around keeping their attention, should she have something important to say but she is far from demanding when it comes to lime-light. Aside from friendly greetings or personal conversation, it is rare for her to ever speak out of place unless it is for good reason. She enjoys telling young cats of the clan stories of faeries and past clan events, simmering in the joy of excitement and curiosity that burns in their eyes much like her own even to this day. Her folksy charisma has a way of bringing cats together, so long as peace is still an option during tense situations. Murkysong is a mainly passive character, however, in situational times of crisis, her chaotic good nature will favor her opinion of the morally right choice, even if it meant bloodshed. Her intelligent mind allows her to be observant, analytical and most insightful in almost any situation but some cats find it difficult to see behind her quirky exterior. Murkysong's opinionated thoughts mostly rely on reflection of herself and things she has observed through life or simply on a day by day. the history Hawthornflower (charmingclocks): Father figure to Murkysong, raised her from a kit when she was brought to the clan.Trilliumsight (NPC|Already Deceased) Never knowing a true mother, her origin in Moorclan was something that wasn't very easy to hide despite seeing Hawthornflower like a father. This aided in her hatred for Moorclan taking root at a very early age, and her loyalty undeniably rested in Firthclan whom she saw as her saviors. During her kithood, she often tangled herself between Hawthornflowers' legs and playfully pestered the nurses. Although she could be a handful, it was clear she was well loved and the time of her apprenticeship came with great anticipation. Given the name Murkypaw, she dove into her training with enthusiasm head first! Her mentor was especially skilled in swimming, which was then passed on to Murkypaw who developed into a skilled swimmer and fisher alike! She often asked many questions about the fae and pestered Trilliumsight, the oracle before her, to tell her stories. When the time came for her warrior ceremony, despite her brilliant skill as a fisher/swimmer, she was more notably recognized for her uplifting air and enthusiasm for the entire clan and given the name Murkysong. For several moons she served her clan faithfully without question or hesitation to stand up for what she believed in, having started quarrels with Moorclan cats at clan gatherings more than once. Some senior warriors pondered her possible path as the future leader, though it was clear she favored staying near Hawthornflower and the other nurses, aiding in their duties and learning what she could through observation. When she wasn't helping in camp, she would often disappear to linger in areas she recalled seeing sprites and other fae creatures in a hope that she could observe them. One evening, when she had spent too long of the night laying without sleep, she ventured to visit with Trilliumsight who often kept her company during restless times but found the elderly frame of her friend laying limp at the floor of the den. Overwhelmed by the loss of a cat who felt like a mother to her, Murkysong fled to the infamous pool that supposedly housed Ciuthach. A pool she had often visited in the past though never spoken with Ciuthach directly until that moment. Sensing her grief, Ciuthach appeared and shared Murkysongs mourning but left her with the message that even though Trilliumsight had passed, the clan wasn't left without an oracle and although Ciuthach didn't physically heal her she did something Murkysong found more comforting than anything, spoke to her. So often had she witnessed fae creatures but never interacted, there was a sense of peace that flooded her speaking to them the first time, and to Ciuthach of all fae! The daunting meaning of these events did not reach Murkysong until the clan knew of it, not taking long before granting her the title of Oracle in place of her departed friend. Murkysong has only been serving the clan as an oracle for 5 moons and clearly takes pride in her position among her clanmates, trying to be helpful whenever she can. Though something within her is longing for more that she can't recognize yet... Perhaps it was never having a family to call her own. For now, Murkysong sees all of Firthclan as her family she will go to great lengths to protect and yet so much of the fae realm seems to be a mystery to her --- One that she'd like to solve. the role player ooc name • Page experience • 5-6 years other characters • TBD |
