Cats Outside the Clans
Pest Cats
This refers to the many cats who live in barns and human buildings providing pest control, in return for shelter and occasionally human affection. They form their own loose-knit community, similar to that of a small human town atmosphere. Most pest cats know each by name and scent, and they often collaborate on small activities. They freely travel between farms or homes, and are known for their hospitality, so long as everyone is civil. Some would consider themselves pacifists, and tend to avoid conflict in general. They try to be neutral in any conflict, whether it involves clans or cats outside the clans. These are the majority of cats associated with humans, and actual kittypets are very very rare. To be called a kittypet is the absolute highest insult any cat can give you.
Clowders
Small groups of 3 or 4 she-cats with whatever litter of kits they may have at the time. They share hunting and kit-raising responsibilities and usually will drive away their male kits, although occasionally female kits will stay and the clowder will grow. Generally clowders are not territorial except to protect their kits, and they have no culture beyond family ties and stories haphazardly passed down mother to kit. On site these will be strictly regulated, and clowders will only be allowed to be formed under special circumstances.
Gangs
Groups of cats involving extended family or several family groups together, although they never reach more than half the size of an average clan (15 cats). They usually like to try and carve out their own territory, or take up the position of a colony in that they choose one specific location to set up near a food source. These are the most likely to get into spats with Pineclan and occasionally Firthclan, but when that occurs it most likely means that the gang is about to dissolve, as they cannot compete with the clans numbers and resources. There is often a loosely based culture which is unique to their gang, but it usually doesnt last much longer than a single leader's lifetime, and usually less. These groups will be more carefully regulated as well, and start at 9 to 15 cats. Most likely the creation of a gang will be added as a shop item.
Loners
Unsurprisingly, Loners are the single cats, usually toms, who roam the territory freely. They are rarely tied to any place, and simply enjoy the freedom of traveling, of seeing new things. Many clan exiles end up as loners, as even outsiders usually know better than to associate with them. Being a Loner is often a stepping stone for something else, until a cat can find a mate and settle down, unless they prefer to be alone for their entire lives. There will be no regulations regarding loners, and they can easily be made.
Rogues
These are small groups usually consisting of a single family unit with parents and their kits, and potentially some siblings or a grandparent. The families are closely knit and the mothers are less likely to drive their children away, instead the kits usually get to choose if they wish to stay with the family or leave. Once a rogue family grows beyond three generations it becomes known as a gang. Rogue families have their own unique culture based around each family group. Rogues will not be as heavily regulated, so long as they do not exceed 8 cats per group.
