She enjoys talking about the latest news in the Clan and about training. Playful banter and insults is one of her preferred ways of joking. Sometimes she goes overboard and ends up confused by this, as she doesn't understand why would any cat take it so seriously. Amaranth often brags to others and extraggates things, although she doesn't mean it in a mean way. She simply doesn't view it as wrong. It makes the she-cat happy to see her friends' excited faces as she tells them about a large catch that she made. Admiration is a very important motivation for her. Due to this, she often talks more than she listens. It's hard for her to deal with the problems of others, she often doesn't know what to say and it makes her uncomfortable. On the other hand, Amaranth vents to others when she feels upset or angry. Converations about deeper matters, like the purpose of life confuse her and she avoids them. It's easy for her to come off as uncaring, especially to older cats. However, that isn't true. She simply fails to view things from a point of view ofther than her own. Amaranth can be found in a positive mood most of the time. Joy comes to her easily and she becomes excited about the smallest things. Just seeing a pretty shell or flower can make her day. Large events like a litter of kits being born will cause her to be so ecstatic that she cannot focus. It's easy for Amaranth to become upset too. Simply being insulted can cause her to become apathetic for some time. She's likely to ignore the offending cat and avoid them as much as possible. After some time, this will stop, but she is not the type to forgive and forget after a day or two. However, Amaranth would never even think of insulting back or arguing. She rarely even becomes angry. About other things, she's quite laid-back. This frustrates her mentor as the apprentice would rather look at pretty butterflies than practice hunnting. She is quite obedient in reality, but finds it hard to focus and pay attention. She also doesn't quite understand why she should even train, but tries regardless. She's spontaneous and doesn't think about things too often before doing them, which can hurt feelings. She views the world in a simple, black and white way. There is only good and evil for her, nothing inbetween. It's a stance that reflects her love of stories, which obviously aren't based in reality. Amaranth is optimistic and believes that everything will come out well in the end. However, she tries to find the good in things to the extreme. "Even if something seems bad, it will turn out for the better," is what she likes to say. This leads to some unfortunate situations where she isn't sympathetic enough for cats that have suffered a tragedy. If something would go horribly wrong and affect her closely, Amaranth would just shut it out and pretend it never happened. the history mother • Pochardstorm, 25 moons, warrior, a long-haired semi-cobby tortoiseshell classic tabby with orange eyes, white paws and a half-tail (NPC) father • Plumfang, 45 moons, senior warrior, a short-haired substantial red mackarel tabby with copper eyes and white patches (NPC) sister • Fleckpaw, 7 moons, apprentice, a short-haired substantial tortoiseshell mackarel tabby with amber eyes and a white chest and tailtip (NPC) brother • Kitepaw, 7 moons, apprentice, a long-haired semi-cobby red mackarel tabby with orange eyes, large white patches and a half-tail (NPC) maternal grandmother • Curlewsong, 65 moons, senior warrior, a brown classic tabby with orange eyes and a white chest (NPC) overall history • Pochardstorm and Plumfang had an interesting relationship. It progressed very quickly, and even though riddles and games were involved, it didn't take nearly as long as it should have. They were both skilled warriors, ambicious and willing to give up everything for their Clan. They lacked the typical closeness of a couple in the first few moons and only bonded after Pochardstorm became pregnant. The two became one of the closest couples in the Clan, picking names for their kits, chatting about Clan life, going on patrols together and they suddenly realized that it was too soon to actually have kits. Pochardstorm wanted to serve her Clan a bit more before being burdened with kits and Plumfang still felt a bit too immature for the responsibility that raising kits was. This resulted in the kits being taken care of mostly by nurses and later the entire Clan. Curlewsong was the most involved out of all of them, telling the kits stories and teaching them about Clan law. Amaranthkit was always the most interested one out of the three kits and loved the stories, taking them as objective representations of the truth. Curlewsong became Amranathkit's role model and the she-kit decided that she would always be on the side of good, just like her grandmother. Amaranthkit was very close to her littermates. The gentle Fleckkit was always happy to listen to Amaranthkit's chatter and stories, while Kitekit was always up for a challenge. They made a delightful trio of kits that rarely got in trouble, even though they sometimes annoyed their Clanmates with their endless questions. Fleckkit and Kitekit were careful to discourage their sister from breaking the rules, as Amaranthpaw often attempted to suggest. Fleckkit was always a bit more mature and she saw the world closer to what is actually is. She tried to convince her sister that good and evil is more relative and that there aren't any clear boundaries. That her dreams were impossible and that you couldn't always tell evil at a glance. That MoorClan's traditions weren't evil, but simply a way of surviving. Curlewsong was unsure how to react. She reassured Amaranthkit that Fleckkit was lying, even though Curlewsong wasn't sure if this was the best course of action. This caused a rift between the two sisters. After this, Fleckkit and Kitekit stopped coming to Curlewsong for the stories. Curlewsong was quite hurt at this and decided that she should admit the truth to Amaranthkit but always put it off. Kitekit, Amaranthkit and Fleckkit became apprentices together at the age of six moons. Amaranthpaw got -- as a mentor, a very patient cat that was mature and able to try to have Amaranthpaw leave her beliefs behind. Fleckpaw actually requested --, a feat that took a large amount of courage and Kitepaw standing next to her. The leader agreed as Amaranthpaw's immaturity was quite visible and she needed a cat to take it easy with her. Fleckpaw confronted Amaranthpaw again, this time with Kitepaw's help. They told her that the stories weren't real and that she needs to see the world as it is, but she denied it and ran off to her mentor for comfort. -- tried to bring the littermates together by forcing them to work together, but was only partially successful. Amaranthpaw started tolerating Fleckpaw and stopped avoiding her, but didn't rekindle a friendship. Kitepaw, on the other hand, apologized and promised to never talk about Curlewsong's stories again. the genes basic appearance • red classic tabby, long fur, yellow eyes, short tail dominant genes • long fur, red, non-dilute (Dd), classic tabby, low white (Ww), Manx short tail, polydactyly (Pdpd) recessive genes • dilute, amber (Ee), long tail the role player ooc name • Kaj or Kajka, although I don't mind if you call me something different experience • almost none other characters • first character |
