They are quite brindled although their contrasting color stands out. The position of the orange patches resembles stripes. Waspclaw is lithe and athletic, with a lot of muscle in her hind legs. She has long legs on a long body. Her fur is thick and short, it's longer on her tail. The molly has a triangular face with small, rounded ears and a dark brown nose. She had a long, square muzzle with a gentle slope and almond-shaped pale green eyes. There is a long scar on her left shoulder, gained from the war between MoorClan and PineClan. the personality likes - fighting, battle - being strong - MoorClan - respect - mentoring - power dislikes - faeries - cats who challenge her world view - death, killing - weak warriors - bad mentors - cats who aren't willing to help themselves - apologizing strengths - fighting - commanding cats - running weaknesses - hunting - comforting someone - diplomacy dreams - meeting Larkcloud again and apologizing to her - being remembered after her death fears - death - seeing MoorClan be destroyed overall personality • Waspclaw is mostly known for her snappy remarks and sharp tounge. She isn't afraid to be rude to make a point and it can be hard to make her apologize. She isn't rude for no reason, but is usually annoyed with cats past her breaking point. Due to her impatience and natural dislike for those stupider, less skilled or less ambitious than her, this happens quite often. She won't back down from an argument unless forced to and won't be afraid to state her opinion. Waspclaw is ambitious. She enjoys having power and wants to become a Second one day. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem possible due to her old age and the new Second being chosen lately. Her ambition transformed into simply wanting to be remembered after death as a great warrior. She believes that she knows what is best for MoorClan and likes to advise the leader whenever possible. She would often take an aggressive approach rather than a peaceful or defensive one. To be fair to her, Waspclaw cares about her Clanmates and would do anything to protect them. She is frustrated when they don't live up to her standards that she only said because of her bond with the Clan. With age she has grown to be a bit kinder, something that surpsises cats as it's often the other way around. the history mother • Dotterelflight, 47 moons (25 at birth), warrior, short-haired semi-foreign dilute tortoiseshell with a white chest and hazel eyes (deceased) father • Icestone, 80 moons, (35 at birth) warrior, short-haired semi-cobby fully white tom with orange eyes (deceased) brother • Blizzardheart, 55 moons, warrior, short-haired semi-cobby white with green eyes (deceased) sister • Tairm [Larkcloud], 70 moons, loner, short-haired semi-cobby ticked torbie with a white belly, legs and amber eyes (NPC) mentor • Lightningpelt, tom, 88 moons, (18 at mentorship) warrior, short-haired cobby cream mackerel tabby with yellow eyes (deceased) apprentice • Shadefang, tom, 42 moons, second, short-haired foreign black ticked tabby tom with green eyes (charmingclocks ) apprentice • Boarstorm, she-cat, 19 moons, warrior, short-haired semi-cobby brown ticked tabby with gold eyes (deceased) overall history • Dotterelflight was one of the most popular cats in MoorClan after she became a warrior. She had many friends and always knew how to cheer someone up. However, she showcased a degree of naivity that made her an unlikely choice for important tasks. She idolized warriors that achieved impressive feats and believed that an early death in battle was heroic and admirable. In her eyes, MoorClan cats can do no wrong (unless someone breaks the Code). When Dotterelflight reached 20 moons, she decided that it was a great time to have kits. Her choice in a mate was odd. Icestone had never been a friend to her and was known for thinking that kits shouldn't be raised by the father. Perhaps that is why he and Dotterelflight had kits. He cared for her while she was pregnant and talked to her after she gave birth, but they never started a friendship. Icestone didn't spend a lot of time with his kits, leaving Dotterelflight to be the only one responsible for raising them. After an easy birth, Dotterelflight was the proud mother of three kits. She named the white tom Blizzardkit, the torbie with white Larkkit and her largest kit (a tortoiseshell she-cat) Waspkit. It was clear that she had a preference for Waspkit due to her size and natural talent in fighting and sparring. Waspkit was also the most eager one when listening to stories and her values initially developed to be close to those of Dotterelflight's. Unlike Blizzardkit and Larkkit, she never wanted to seek her father out. This caused her to be quite distant from her siblings, especially with Larkkit. Larkkit was always timid and scared by the thought of battle. Blizzardkit wanted to protect his smaller sister from Waspkit's more aggressive nature and ambition. Waspkit was arrogant to all that she thought weren't good enough. This didn't manifest as disobedience, it was more of Waspkit having slightly sassy remarks, especially to other kits and apprentices. Of course, she ignored the fact that her own mother wasn't a 'good enough' warrior herself. In Waspkit's eyes, Dotterelflight was a perfect hero. When Waspkit reached six moons, she was very excited for her mentor. However, she was assigned Lightingpelt, a painfully average, but good-natured warrior. She was his first apprentice and it was clear in the way he taught skills. Wasppaw quickly fell behind her siblings in skills, contrary to her dreams of becoming an amazing warrior. Just a few moons into her training, she seeked the help of an experienced cat that helped her unlock her full potential in fighting. Her hunting, however, was less ideal as she never improved it. One day, when Wasppaw was about twelve moons, Larkpaw told her and Blizzardpaw that she was leaving the Clan. Even though she was doing well in training and would certainly make it as a warrior, she thought that being a Clan cat wasn't a good way to live. Wasppaw lashed out at Larkpaw, who (to Wasppaw's surprise) defended herself. Wasppaw's extra training went to good use and she won the battle. Larkpaw, full of anger, shouted: "You are the reason that I became a loner!" This haunts Waspclaw to this day, although Larkpaw never meant it. Blizzardpaw started avoiding his sister after that, disgusted by her behaviour. Wasppaw worked even harder, trying to perfect her fighting skills in order to prove herself to the Clan. She didn't want to be seen as disloyal with a sister who left MoorClan. The apprentice started despising Lightningpelt and his failure to teach her. It was too late into her training to change something, so she continued to train with other warriors with the large amounts of free time she got from her mentor. Dotterelflight was very supportive for Wasppaw and encouraged her in improving her fighting skills. The day when Wasppaw became a warrior was special. Eager to please, she took on an eagle all by herself and managed to drive it off after her furious attack. At the end of her day, she proudly walked to the leader and Lightningpelt to show them the single feather she got. They were very impressed and Wasppaw was awarded the name of Waspclaw at only fourteen moons. Blizzardheart got his name three moons after her for his strong sense of morality. While watching his ceremony, Waspclaw remembered that Larkpaw should have gotten her name around this time too. She decided on -cloud as the suffix she would have gotten, although it might not have been the most accurate. Waspclaw was only twenty-two when the war of PineClan and MoorClan began. It was here that she truly established herself as one of the best fighters. She enjoyed the battles, the adrenaline rush that came with them and how easy it was to beat opponent after opponent. It was a time where Waspclaw felt amazing and nothing could bring her down. As much as it was strange to admit it, she enjoyed fighting for her life. Most of her closest friendships began here, as she gained a sudden charisma and outgoing nature. The final battle left a terrible impression on her. While she won every single one of her little duels, it was here that Waspclaw saw her mother actually fight against a cat. It was heartbreaking to watch as the cat she admired the most and thought of as a great warrior was almost immediately struck down. The injury that Dotterelflight got was severe and caused her death the next day. Waspclaw was heartbroken. She managed to push through, however when she tried to confide in Blizzardheart about her emotions, he said that he didn't care for Dotterelflight. This made their divide so wide that they were never able to repair it, even when they tried. Waspclaw had to wrestle with who she truly was afterwards. She hated the thought of more cats close to her dying and grew to despise death. In her eyes, being a coward was preferable to being dead. The tales of heroic sacrifices that Dotterelflight liked to tell so often grew meaningless. However, peace seemed just impossible to keep. There were always going to be skirmishes and it looked like trying to prevent conflicts did nothing but harmed MoorClan. Waspclaw became a strong advocate for violence, but never for death. That, she believed, was only deserved if a cat broke a major law. Murderers and traitors deserved the penalty, but no one else did. Her beliefs were the result of deep contemplation over several moons when she became more withdrawn and talked only to her closer friends. The next few moons passed by uneventfully. Waspclaw became more sociable once again, although sarcasm and witty comebacks became a larger part the way she talked. Her standing in MoorClan rose as she took part in discussions about the future of the Clan and her battle skills saved cats time and time again from predators. It didn't take that long for Waspclaw to be appointed an apprentice. Shadepaw had shown excellent talent for fighting that the leader was hoping Waspclaw could encourage. Afraid of being a bad mentor like Lightningpelt, she trained Shadepaw vigorously. Due to her failures as a hunter, she focused mainly on battle training. It seemed to suit Shadepaw, who lived up to the promises he had shown as a kit. The rivarly he had with Smokepaw pushed him further, so Waspclaw happily encouraged it. When Shadepaw seeked Pebblewhisker out, rather than be offended, she was happy for him. It reminded her of a time when she was Wasppaw and had to look for help to advance in her skills. When Shadepaw got his warrior name, Shadefang, she was very proud of him. Whem Icestone died, Waspclaw didn't feel much emotion. He never bothered to bond with her and always treated her cooly. It was an insignificant event, especially when compared to Dotterelflight's death. At fifty moons, Waspclaw had another apprentice. With Boarpaw she used mostly similar methods as with Shadefang, although the she-cat didn't catch onto fighting as well as her first apprentice. She went a bit slower with Boarpaw and made sure to teach her some more hunting, but she still recommended finding a second mentor. Boarpaw, being less ambitious, declined and decided that she was happier with sub-par skills. She became a warrior later than usual, but she was still a respectably trained warrior. Boarstorm drifted away from Waspclaw after the ceremony. She accepted it, their personalities weren't a great match even though it pushed Boarstorm to do better. Blizzardheart's death was a large shock to Waspclaw. He died before they ever became close. This reminded Waspclaw of Larkcloud and how she never had a chance to reconnect with her. It became Waspclaw's goal to try and apologize to her long lost sister sometime. She still regrets that she grew apart with her siblings. As she was used to deal with tragedy and their relationship was quite weak, Waspclaw didn't let Boarstorm's recent death get in the way of her parcipitation in the Trial. It was a bloody fight where she lost control. Being in a real fight was different from the gentle sparring that she liked to do with her Clanmates. Waspclaw saw her opponents as enemies that she had to stop - similar to the battles with PineClan she participated in. Sootstorm's death was an accident that she didn't want to occur. It was her first kill and it makes her feel guilty to this day. She often has flashbacks to the terrible moment where she ripped his wound apart. Shadefang's anger makes Waspclaw feel even worse. The fact that she lost her only chance of being a second haunts her too, especially since she was unlikely to do anything remarkable in the rest of her life. Her shining moments in the war with PineClan were long gone and it feels like her life was wasted. With all the death, is it even worth being in MoorClan anymore? The thought of leaving and searching for Larkcloud often crosses her mind nowadays. Her skills got rusty from old age and she isn't as important as she was before. Lightningpelt's death drove her further away from staying. Everyone that played a large part in her life, including most of her friends, are dead. Only Shadefang remains and he hates her. the genes basic appearance • short-haired dense black tortoiseshell with no whitespotting dominant genes • short-haired (Ll), dense (Dd), black (BB), ticked (Tata) recessive genes • long-haired, dilute, non-tabby (aa), non-ticked, mackerel (McMc), no whitespotting (ww) the role player ooc name • Kaj or Kajka experience • almost none other characters • Amaranthpaw, Bitternnose |
