The Looks
Short Description • Longhaired dark brown mackerel tabby with low white and amber eyes
Body Type• Substantial
Overall Looks • Large and muscular. Alderpaw is well-built for withstanding the winds ravaging over Moorclan territory. He has long, dark fur, with a wide bushy tail similar to a squirrel's. His stomach, neck and haunches are especially fluffy. He's got a wide head with rounded, wide ears, from where curled white ear furnishings sprout. His left ear has a single notch in it from a fall in his kithood. His muzzle is wide and his chin square, giving his face a chiseled, handsome appearance. His nose bridge is long and broad with a slight fluck upwards at the end, and his nose is a beautiful rosy pink, matching his pawpads. From in between these pawpads long, black fur sprouts, and this fur is often dirty from being stood on as Alderpaw traverses the boggy portions of the moor. He has a white spot on his muzzle, and his tail-tip and lower stomach is also white. His eyes are almond-shaped and a pale yellowy-amber, a high contrast from the dark black stripes that grace his face. His whiskers are long and white, and hang down from his muzzle as if they are heavy.

Overall Personality • Alderpaw is a strong, unforgettable character. He'll never back down from a challenge, even if it's clear that the odds are against him. He's got a very strong sense of justice, and hates seeing another cat in trouble or being hurt. He's got a very strong bond with his two brothers, who he adores very much and would do anything for. When his brother Aspenpaw confided in him that he was actually a tom, he made it his special mission to make sure that everyone respected his brother. He's loyal till death to his friends.
However, Alderpaw has an awful habit of overestimating himself. Due to his large size and the way he was raised, he's got a very warped view of himself, and believes that he is roughly as strong as a full-grown warrior. However, he isn't, and this fact often involves with him getting in some pretty awful situations. Couple that with the fact that he's unwaveringly selfless to his friends, and he often ends up acting as a feline shield for the ones he loves. Alderpaw is also easily manipulated, and isn't very good at coming up with his own ideas. He's not unintelligent, but he isn't exactly a scholarly type, more atuned to tactics of war than stories and anecdotes. Alderpaw works best in a team.
When he isn't hyped up about something or trying to show off, Alderpaw is a massive softie. He loves cuddling with other cats, and especially loves sleeping with them. He still has this childish quick in the fact that he cannot sleep alone. In order to get to sleep, he needs to be clapped up beside another cat. Due to this, him and his brothers often sleep in a massive old pile in the nursery. Due to having this very warped view of himself, he unfortunately sometimes ends up squishing and hurting smaller cats that he tries to hug or play with. It's never out of malice, he's just a big boy who wants to wrestle.

Kithood
Alderkit was born to Rainstorm, Brightflight and Rowanpelt, alongside his siblings Maplekit and Aspenkit. They had always been close, ever since they were young kits, and the untimely death of their father drew them even closer. For most of their kithood the three were inseparable, and enjoyed playing pranks on the younger kits and play-fighting with each other. Maplekit often planned and orchestrated these pranks, and Alderkit found himself going along with whatever his brother said, as he really looked up to him and wanted to impress him. As such, Alderkit spent a lot of his kithood as the scrawny Maplekit's muscle; a cat to act as intimidation when he didn't get his own way.
Being the largest and the strongest of their litter, Alderkit had a lot expected of him from his mothers, both strong warriors themselves. In fact, it was said that his mother Rainstorm was descended from a warrior king who had successfully held off proto-Pineclan raids from before Moorclan had even existed. Big paws to fill. He was held to a high standard of strength from a young age. This also affected the way he interacted with other kittens within the nursery.
Alderkit was always closer to Aspenkit than Mapleskit was. So when Aspenkit began acting strange, he was one of the first to notice. It was at this time that Aspenkit confided in him about his emotions regarding his gender. Aspenkit revealed to Alderkit that he had never felt like a molly, despite having a 'molly body' per se. He told Alderkit that he felt more like a tom, and would rather be a tom. Alderkit reacted enthusiastically to this news and immediately adopted his new brother's pronouns, and would often yell at adult cats who would forget and call Aspenkit a 'she'. He grew closer to Aspenkit, whilst gaining the maturity to look at Maplekit's words in a evaluative way and decide for himself if he wants to follow them or not.
He was apprenticed recently, and has a lot of high expectations for his future.
