history
Kittenhood - Boletekit and Cepkit were born during a storm in the middle of the summer. Tiptail braved the storm just so he could sit outside the nursery and call to his queen to make sure she was alright. Guided by touch and the flashes of lightning, Gadwallclaw -with the help of the nurses and healers- had successfully delivered her two sons to Pineclan. It was around this time when the Moorclan spy had been discovered and executed, resulting in many battles between the two clans. The nursing queen was once caught in a battle and was horribly wounded while trying to defend her leader and clanmates, but thankfully she made a quick and full recovery with no complications. While their mother was recovering, the two kits saw much more of their father. Tiptail was an awkward parent but did his very best to help raise his sons; he would teach them, play with them but more than anything he would tell them stories, particularly about his time as a loner while living in the village. Cepkit was an imaginative little tom and this would often result in his mind running wild, which usually lead to nightmares. He was a very thoughtful and caring individual and would often visit his mother when she was still recovering in the healers den; this lead him to visit elders every now and then as well. He learned a lot and developed quickly. His mother and father were both very invested in the future of their kits, so they would frequently teach them lessons and give them light training. Cepkit was there when Ashstar gave birth to Cormorantkit and Cinderkit. He was deeply fascinated with his tiny new denmates, and when his mother informed him that they had a very important role in the clan, he and his brother had put it upon themselves to take turns guarding the nursery. Apprenticeship - Ceppaw and Boletepaw excelled in their basic training and got along very well with most of their denmates. He was often walked on by Cormorantkit, who pressured him into teaching him whatever he learned. Ceppaw usually got his brother to amuse the young heir instead, which he didn’t mind; it gave Boletepaw the chance to practice and impress others. When it came time for their official ceremony, the young apprentice was thrilled to have the consort Vetchcloud as his mentor and did everything he could to please him. He did his best to learn as much as he could, but no matter how hard he tried he never seemed to do well in combat training. Hoping to make up for his downfalls, Ceppaw reached out for guidance and training from many different sources. He learned a slightly more advanced first aid, he was taught how to swim, he became knowledgeable in building and reinforcing dens and barriers, and he even spent some time with the nurses. It was during his time learning in the nursery when he got to know Cinderpaw a little more. He would see her a lot, since her father was his mentor, but now he was spending time with her as the two learned about raising kits. They became pretty good friends. When the day came, Ceppaw had failed his battle trial… he was never the best fighter but perhaps he would’ve became a warrior alongside his brother Boletefang if he hadn’t tried to learn so many different things. He did his best not to be discouraged and trained even harder. Vetchcloud had him focus on a more defensive battle style, and with all of the gruelling training sessions, it didn’t take him long before he was ready for a second run at his trials.Warrior Moons - Cepfur may not have found a skill he was gifted in but he proved himself to be a cat of many talents. His joy of being made an official warrior of Pineclan was overshadowed by the steady increase in his nightmares. He wondered if they ever left him in the first place… perhaps he had simply been too tired and busy as an apprentice to notice them before. Lucky for him, a distraction came in the form of Cinderflower, who had time to spare from her role as nurse. The two reconnected and spent a great deal of time together, becoming even closer than they were before. Despite the bond they now shared, he was still stunned when Cinderflower asked him to father her kits. He cared very deeply for her but he didn’t think very highly of himself and couldn’t see why any she-cat would want to have kits with him. But he was overjoyed as well and he knew how much she wanted kits of her own, so if she was sure she wanted him, then he was more than happy to oblige. But fate had been cruel and it took away three of their kits during complications brought on by premature labor. He blamed himself, for he had doubted whether or not he was suitable from the very start… but he kept this to himself and did what he could to support and comfort his grieving mate. Cepfur watched his only daughter grow into a very spirited cat who was not to be underestimated. All seemed well until cats started to go missing. When Ashstar organized search parties, Cepfur requested to remain with Cinderflower so that he could guard the camp, but in the end nothing was ever found. To make matters worse, Ashstar became ill and passed away. While the clan was still getting over the loss of their monarch, Cormorantfang and his consort had been found dead out in the territories with no known cause. This simple warrior suddenly found himself in a position he had never once imagined he’d be in. He and Cinderflower did not feel prepared to lead the clan, nor did they ever want to in the first place, but now here they were. Cinderstar then decided to spare their only kit from the burden of being the sole heir and tried for another litter of kits. This time, perhaps thanks to the Devas blessings, the pregnancy held no complications and healthy kits were born into the clan. Now, Cepfur is still adjusting to his role as consort; he is sometimes unsure of how to use his own authority and he struggles under the burden and stress of his position. But he is trying. His sharp eyes, creative mind and knowledge of defences have given him an advantage so far, and he spends every waking moment trying to better himself and provide as much support for Cinderstar as he can. genes
