Plot
The black death has almost been forgotten by the clans, even though it created them in the first place. But as Pineclan and Moorclan square off in a battle for the legitimacy of the leadership of the monarch of Pineclan, and Firthclan delves deeper into the secrets of the Fae and their world, death lurks just on the edge, biding its time. It creeps up the coast, village to village, ever closer, consuming all in sickness and fire and ash. Will the clans be prepared for its return?
Rumors have always swirled around Cinderstar. After her mother's affair with a Moorclan spy, there had always been rumors that Cinderstar was actually of Moorclan blood. This of course has long fueled the most conservative of Pineclan, and caused division. With the death of her more popular brother, and her becoming Monarch, there have been even more rumors. Some say that he was assassinated by Moorclan to put her in her position, that she was a part of it. But so far no one has psoken out. After all, Cinderstar has given birth to heirs, established the future of the clan, and so far has made no move towards changing things with Moorclan.
That however may change.
With Ashstar's death, the treaty ended between Pineclan and Moorclan. Without the confines of the treaty, and a new and relatively inexperienced leader in Pineclan, Moorclan has had the chance to begin to make moves on their old enemy. While only a few cats have joined in the last few moons, they have faced more scrutiny by older clanmates. Could any of them be spies? Is Moorclan working to destablize the clan within? Its difficult to tell for now, but with the heirs reaching an age of apprenticeship and entering a new age of vulnerability, who knows what direction relations will go between clans.
Meanwhile north of Firthclan, prey is disappearing. Any Firthclan cat with a sprite who wanders near their border feels a chill running down their spine, their sprites hiding and fleeing. Twinkling lights have begun appearing in the bog at night, enticing cats to go out. Already two have disappeared with no trace, just like the cats in Pineclan a few seasons ago. No one is quite sure what to do, and despite the Oracle's attempts to engage Cuithach about the threat, their benevolent fae has made no effort or mention of the curious events. If things dont get better soon Firthclan will be forced to take drastic measures. Soon a scouting team will be sent to determine the nature of the threat, but it will take time.
Time they may not have.
